Salary Range: $104,000.00 To $193,000.00 Annually

Position Title: Marketing Communications Manager Requisition ID: Position Location: Fairfax, VA Position Reports To: Chief Growth Officer Supervises Others: No

We are a high growth, $300M+ aerospace and defense manufacturer backed by a premier Private Equity firm. Operating across three distinct business divisions, we deliver critical, highly engineered components and solutions to commercial aerospace, defense, and space customers globally.

We are seeking a high-energy, hands-on Marketing Communications Manager to consolidate, elevate, and drive our corporate and divisional brand identities. In a PE-backed environment, speed, clarity, ROI, and cross-divisional alignment matter. You will be the primary storyteller and marketing architect, responsible for building integrated communication strategies, managing press and public relations, refreshing digital content, and aligning our brand messaging across all three business units to support aggressive revenue growth.

Brand Strategy & Integration
  • Define, standardize, and maintain the overarching corporate brand identity while establishing distinct value propositions for each of our three operating divisions.
  • Create and enforce comprehensive brand guidelines (visual identity, tone of voice, messaging architecture) across all marketing collateral, tradeshows, and digital touchpoints.
  • Help position the company as a unified $300M aerospace leader rather than three disparate operating units.
Digital Content & Web Management
  • Own and manage content creation for the corporate and divisional websites, optimizing for audience engagement, customer acquisition, and SEO.
  • Lead web refresh initiatives, working alongside web developers or agencies to enhance UX/UI, build landing pages, and highlight core technological capabilities.
  • Develop a consistent social media strategy (primarily LinkedIn) to boost executive visibility, share technical wins, and support talent acquisition.
External Communications & PR
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases announcing new product launches, contract wins, facility expansions, executive hires, and strategic acquisitions (M&A).
  • Build and nurture relationships with key aerospace and defense trade media contacts.
  • Manage media inquiries, pitch editorial features, and secure speaking opportunities for executive leadership at major industry events.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and sales leaders across all 3 divisions to translate complex technical specs into compelling marketing materials (white papers, datasheets, case studies, videos, pitch decks).
  • Design and execute high-impact tradeshow branding, pre-event promotional campaigns, and booth communication strategies for major industry events (e.g., Paris Air Show, Farnborough, AUSA).
Executive & PE Reporting
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across digital channels, PR campaigns, and lead generation efforts.
  • Prepare concise marketing performance updates for senior leadership and the PE Operating Committee to demonstrate marketing ROI.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing communications, content creation, and corporate communications within a B2B manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders across multiple business units or divisions.
  • Ability to digest complex engineering or aerospace concepts and translate them into clear, engaging value propositions for non-technical buyers.
  • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, HubSpot, etc.), CRM integration, email marketing tools, Google Analytics, and graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud / Canva).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a PE-backed or rapid-growth environment where you operate at both the strategic level (brand architecture) and execution level (writing, editing, executing).
  • Ability to write polished copy quickly—from crisp press releases to deep-dive technical case studies.
  • High degree of self-motivation, resourcefulness, and "bias for action."
  • Skill in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including division general managers, engineers, sales directors, and executive leadership.
