Job description

The Orphan Outreach Summer Internship Program is designed to provide college students with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children around the world while gaining hands-on experience in a global non-profit organization that serves vulnerable children and families through a range of international ministry programs grounded in our Christian mission and values. We are seeking qualified and highly motivated interns interested in gaining non-profit experience and contributing to the success of Orphan Outreach in the areas of marketing/ communications, and missions/sponsorship. Because our work is faith-based, interns are expected to participate in and support the religious mission of the organization, including engagement with Christian practices and values as they relate to our programs and outreach.

Organization Type: U.S.-based Christian nonprofit organization

Location: Plano, Texas (with international travel opportunity)

Duration: Late May – Early August (~10 weeks)

Hours: approx. 35 hours per week

Compensation: $400 per week ($4,000 total)

Additional Benefit: Opportunity to provide support on an international mission trip

ROLES& REQUIREMENTS:

Marketing/Communication Intern
We are looking for a summer intern to work in our Marketing/Communication department and the responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns
  • Create digital and print materials (social graphics, presentations, email assets, collateral) that align with brand standards
  • Support social media content that communicates impact and relationship
  • Assist with asset management and organization of creative files
  • Support engagement tracking and basic performance analysis
  • Provide as-needed assistance with marketplace merchandise coordination and inventory management
QUALIFICATIONS& EXPECTATIONS :
  • Have completed at least two years of college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Be currently enrolled and in good standing at a 4-year college or university
  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in serving orphaned and vulnerable children
  • Be able to affirm and support the Christian mission and religious purpose of the organization and be willing to participate in religious activities that are part of the internship experience
  • Be dependable, teachable, and able to work effectively in a faith-based team environment
  • Be willing to work up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Be able to commute to the Orphan Outreach office in Plano, Texas on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (remote work available on other days)
COMPENSATION& BENEFITS :
  • Interns will receive $400/week for a total of $4,000 for the summer
  • Interns will have the opportunity to travel on an Orphan Outreach summer mission trip as part of their 10-week internship (location and timing to be determined) and will assist the mission trip leader and support trip participants while traveling
  • No housing or housing assistance provided.
