Brown Advisory is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and detail-oriented marketing professional to join the Private Client, Endowments & Foundations (PCE&F) team as an Investment Marketing Specialist. This role is ideal for a marketing professional with experience in investment management or financial services marketing who is passionate about investment storytelling, messaging, and client engagement.

The Investment Marketing Specialist will support the development and execution of investment content and communication initiatives that position Brown Advisory's investment capabilities effectively for private clients, consultants, endowments, foundations, and institutional investors. This individual will work closely with investment, product, sales, and marketing teams to create compelling investment content and deliver high-quality materials that communicate Brown Advisory's investment philosophy, market perspectives, and differentiated capabilities.

The successful candidate will combine strong writing and project management skills with creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, client-focused messaging. This person will be based out of our Baltimore, MD or Washington, DC office.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Support the development and implementation of investment marketing initiatives aligned with the goals of the PCE&F business, Chief Investment Office (CIO), Investment Solutions Group (ISG), OCIO and Private Investment Advisory (PIA) teams.

  • Partner with the Institutional Marketing team to help deliver investment commentary and content related to Brown Advisory's single-strategy public equity and fixed income offerings that are relevant to the PCE&F audience.

  • Create, edit, and maintain marketing materials including pitch books, presentations, fund overviews, commentaries, case studies, fact sheets, and thought leadership content.

  • Partner with investment, research, and product teams to translate complex investment ideas into clear, compelling, and client-ready narratives.

  • Assist in tailoring messaging for different client segments while ensuring consistency with Brown Advisory's brand standards.

  • Contribute to the development of content supporting strategy updates, investment insights, product launches, and client engagement initiatives.

Marketing Campaigns & Digital Engagement

  • Coordinate and execute digital marketing initiatives including email campaigns, webinars, podcasts, videos, and other multimedia content.

  • Work closely with digital marketing teams to support engagement campaigns and sales enablement efforts.

  • Help track and analyze campaign effectiveness and engagement metrics to support ongoing marketing strategy refinement.

  • Support content distribution across marketing channels and platforms.

Client & Sales Support

  • Partner with client-facing teams to curate materials for prospect meetings, finals presentations, and client communications.

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of quarter-end materials and updates.

  • Support BD teams by developing timely and actionable marketing touchpoints.

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and client communications.

Content Management & Operational Support

  • Manage workflows related to content updates, approvals, and compliance reviews.

  • Coordinate routine updates to marketing collateral and ensure materials remain accurate and current.

  • Maintain organized processes for marketing deliverables, timelines, and project management.

  • Partner with compliance teams to ensure all marketing materials meet regulatory and legal standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, finance, business, economics, or a related field.

  • 5-8 years of experience in investment management, asset management, alternatives, or financial services marketing preferred, including experience translating complex investment concepts and market commentary into clear, compelling content for private clients and institutional audiences.

  • Strong understanding of investment concepts and financial markets; familiarity with private markets and alternative investments is a plus.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling and compliant content.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and digital marketing tools preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build effective working relationships.

  • Ability to work in-office five days per week and travel as needed.

MD Salary: $80-150k; Commensurate with experience and location. This range does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility, which are applicable for this role.
