JOB SUMMARY
The Global Marketing Automation Manager is responsible for managing complex, data-driven marketing automation strategies, programs, technologies, and data at scale, globally. He/She manages the strategic, creative, and technical development, execution, reporting, analysis, and optimization across multiple programs, channels, and infrastructure of a complex nature. He/She is responsible for strategically configuring, managing, and integrating multiple technologies and data necessary for compliant marketing automation programs. He/She collaborates with internal and external teams around the world on data strategy, data signal development, data activation, data synchronization, and data integrity. He/She is accountable for compliant execution to protect the organization against risk of significant financial penalties that can be assessed for regulatory violations. He/She also manages employee(s) and vendor(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages the Strategic Design and Development of Advanced Marketing Automation Initiatives
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for marketing automation strategies and how they can be best utilized to achieve business goals, promote desired customer engagement, and generate revenue through a data-driven, multi-channel, sustained campaign approach.
  • Establishes, socializes and codifies all aspects of key marketing automation campaigns (including objectives, audience definition, campaign requirements, automation requirements, channel tactics, messaging and creative, KPIs and measurement structure, test plan, resources, timeline, budget) to set expectations, guide plan execution, and gain leadership team consensus and support.
  • Establishes and evolves audience segmentation strategy, customer journey mapping, data-based targeting, and digital channel engagement to provide optimal digital experience across various stages of the customer lifecycle.
  • Possesses strong acumen required to navigate and leverage customer data, technology platforms, and growth marketing processes to compliantly achieve campaign objectives.
  • Manages data-driven strategy, agile execution, and optimization through collaboration with cross-functional team of internal and external parties (including agency partners and technology providers).
  • Constantly evaluates campaign effectiveness and makes ongoing, proactive recommendations regarding areas of optimization and ongoing evolution.
  • Develops concise executive level presentations that link digital initiatives to business priorities and/or showcase the value derived from the work.
  • Effectively directs vendors, deriving maximum value from the investment to meet or exceed business objectives.
  • Develops, manages, and reconciles budget and financial reporting in alignment with UPS policies, processes, and leadership needs.
  • Monitors marketing automation best practices through external benchmarking, conferences/webinars, etc. to influence internal policy development, strategy development, implementation, and execution.

• Manages Strategic, Creative, Data, and Technical Execution of Data-Driven Marketing Automation Campaign Deliverables
  • Provides continual strategic and technical guidance to evaluate strategic alternatives, determine campaign impact, recommend courses of action, and design and implement technical and non-technical solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Creates and collaborates with cross-functional teams to gain alignment on audience strategy; campaign strategy; journey strategy; messaging strategy; campaign, data, and automation requirements; creative; and measurement plan for each assigned campaign.
  • Conducts large-scale analysis, derives insights, and makes data-driven recommendations.
  • Manages the technical creation of all aspects of marketing automation campaigns, globally, leveraging UPS's marketing automation tools, Databricks, and other technologies and data sources. This includes highly personalized and customized email, landing page, form, and sales alert assets; workflow logic and automation; custom scripting; audience creation and segmentation; automated scoring; automated data routing; email and data privacy compliance; campaign QA and testing; campaign approval and deployment; and reporting/dashboards.
  • Measures, analyzes, reports on, and makes optimization recommendations to evaluate overall channel and campaign effectiveness.
  • Identifies and implements solutions to increase efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
  • Ensures realistic timelines, including milestones and dependencies, have been established and proactively anticipates and overcomes program challenges.
  • Continually evaluates project and deliverable status to ensure scope remains in-tact and project is completed on time and within budget.

Manages Development, Implementation, Configuration, Integration, and Management of Technologies and Data for Marketing Automation Campaigns
  • Identifies, evaluates, conducts business case analysis for, and recommends technologies, technical solutions, and automation to advance personalized marketing automation and compliance efforts at scale.
  • Works with IT, Legal, Procurement, and other internal and external groups to write business requirements, conduct RFPs, implement technologies and technical solutions, and make ongoing enhancements to technologies and technical solutions in alignment with UPS processes.
  • Implements, configures, integrates, manages, and conducts ongoing troubleshooting and optimization of multiple technologies used for global marketing automation.
  • Creates and maintains creative templates, program templates, segmentations, and data management campaigns/workflows within marketing automation tools for use in campaigns.
  • Leads or contributes to the development, testing, and activation of strategic data signals and pipelines synching data between systems.
  • Contributes to the health, cleanliness, and integrity of data used by marketing automation tools, UPS Contact Preference Center, UPS Customer Data Platform, and other UPS systems and databases.
  • Adopts and advances marketing automation solutions and processes to improve efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
  • Serves as Marketing Automation Center of Excellence subject matter expert, providing training and guidance related to best practices, compliance, data, and technology to users of the marketing automation tools, other UPS groups deploying marketing emails globally, and other stakeholders.

  • Manages direct reports and corresponding people processes to ensure the day-to-day administration of processes and formal procedures.
  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities to facilitate individual and team development.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations in a manner that facilitates open communication and encourages continuous performance improvement.
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual and group goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to involve others in new and challenging work assignments and/or rotations that advance the skills and capabilities of individuals and the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation strategies and best practices, technology platform integration and management, and email and data privacy compliance expertise
  • Strong experience working in or directly with marketing automation tools or an email service provider: Marketo (preferred), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, HubSpot, Acoustic Connect, etc.
  • Strong data and analytical skills, including the ability to query, analyze, derive insights, and make recommendations from large data sets (millions of records) from multiple data sources
  • Bachelor's degree (or internationally comparable degree)

Preferences:
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL, Python, Databricks
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Analytics, and website content management
  • Expertise in APIs and hands-on experience with Postman, Insomnia, or other API testing programs
  • Master's degree

The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia and will require commuting to the office. Employer will not sponsor a visa for this position. Candidates must be currently in the same geographic location or willing to relocate independently.
