Both roles require marketing knowledge, but agencies offer broader services, whereas specialists concentrate on digital channels.

How does working at a marketing agency differ from working in an in-house marketing team?

Working at a marketing agency typically involves collaborating with a diverse range of clients across various industries, which means you'll need to quickly adapt to different brand voices and project requirements. Agency roles often require managing multiple projects simultaneously, making time management and multitasking essential skills. In contrast, in-house marketing teams focus on a single brand, allowing for deeper specialization but less variety. Agencies also tend to foster a fast-paced, creative environment where teamwork and cross-functional collaboration are key to delivering results for clients.

What is a marketing agency?

A marketing agency is a company that helps businesses promote their products or services through various marketing strategies and channels. These agencies typically offer services like advertising, digital marketing, branding, social media management, and market research. Their goal is to help clients reach their target audience, increase brand awareness, and drive sales. Marketing agencies can work with businesses of all sizes and often customize their approach to meet the specific needs of each client.

What do you do in a marketing agency?

A marketing agency employs professionals who develop and implement strategies to promote clients' products or services. Roles often include creating advertising campaigns, managing social media, conducting market research, and analyzing data using tools like Google Analytics. Employees typically collaborate in a fast-paced environment and may require skills in communication, creativity, and digital marketing platforms.

How do I get a job at a marketing agency?

To get a job at a marketing agency, develop relevant skills such as digital marketing, content creation, or data analysis, and build a strong portfolio or resume. Gaining experience through internships or freelance projects can improve your chances, and applying through agency websites or job boards is common practice.

How much do marketing agencies pay?

Salaries for marketing agency roles vary based on position, experience, and location. Entry-level positions like marketing assistants typically earn between $40,000 and $60,000 annually, while experienced marketers or account managers can earn $70,000 to over $100,000. Compensation may also include bonuses, commissions, or benefits depending on the agency and role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive at a marketing agency, and why are they important?

To thrive at a marketing agency, you need a solid understanding of marketing principles, campaign strategy, and data analysis, typically supported by a degree in marketing or communications. Familiarity with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, social media management platforms, and CRM systems is highly valuable. Creativity, adaptability, and strong communication skills set standout professionals apart in this fast-paced environment. These competencies are crucial for delivering impactful campaigns, meeting client expectations, and driving measurable results.

What kind of jobs in media bring in $150,000 a year?

High-paying media jobs that can earn $150,000 or more annually include senior roles such as media directors, advertising executives, and digital marketing managers. Full-time

Job description

We are looking for a high-level operator and leader to take over the day-to-day leadership of theย PhysioFunnelsย Marketing Agencyย -ย a multi-million dollarย healthcare marketing division serving private practice owners across the United States,ย andย UK.ย  Please note this role is in-office, full-time in Celebration FL.

This is not a โ€œcampaign managerโ€ role.ย This is not a โ€œmarketing coordinatorโ€ role.ย
And itโ€™s definitely not a role for someone who just wants to manage tasks from Slack.ย This is a leadership position for someone who knows how to run a real agency business.ย

Someone who understands:ย

  • people management,ย ย

  • client retention,ย ย

  • operational efficiency,ย ย

  • delivery standards,ย ย

  • contribution margin,ย ย

  • accountability,ย ย

  • team culture,ย ย

  • and the pressure that comes with leading a people-heavy service division.ย ย

You will work directly with founder Paul Gough and become one of the key senior leaders inside the company as we continue evolving from a traditional marketing company into an AI-first media and technology business.ย

Aboutย PhysioFunnelsย

PhysioFunnelsย is one of the leading marketing agencies serving private practice physical therapy owners.ย We have 100+ clients across the fully done for you program that involves META Ads, Google, Website design, funnel creation, landingย pageย and social media production.ย ย

For more than a decade,ย weโ€™veย helped clinic owners:ย

  • Generate patients,ย ย

  • Grow revenue,ย ย

  • Build authority,ย ย

  • and transition toward more profitableย cash basedย business models.ย ย

Our clients are ambitious, growth-minded healthcare business owners who expectย high standards, fast communication, and measurable outcomes.ย The division currentlyย operatesย with aย largely UK-basedย fulfillment and support team. Over the next phase of growth, we are restructuring leadership and operations to create a stronger 50/50 split between the UK and the USAย โ€“ including some outsourced in Columbia โ€“ย with this role becoming the senior operational leader based near our Florida headquarters.ย

Whatย Youโ€™llย Be Responsible Forย

You will lead the entireย PhysioFunnelsย agency division from an operational, delivery, staffing, and performance standpoint.ย Your job is to ensure the division becomes:ย

  • more profitable,ย ย

  • more efficient,ย ย

  • more accountable,ย ย

  • more scalable,ย ย

  • and lessย founder-dependent.ย ย

You will oversee:ย

  • client delivery,ย ย

  • onboarding,ย ย

  • retention,ย ย

  • fulfillment operations,ย ย

  • project management,ย ย

  • staffing structure,ย ย

  • KPI accountability,ย ย

  • margin performance,ย ย

  • communication standards,ย ย

  • and day-to-day execution across the division.ย ย

You will work closely with:ย

  • client success teams,ย ย

  • media buyers,ย ย

  • account managers,ย ย

  • copywriters,ย ย

  • onboarding staff,ย ย

  • sales leadership,ย ย

  • and the executive team.ย ย

You will also playย a major roleย in helping integrate AI, automation, and operational systems into the future of the agency.ย

Who This Role Is Perfect Forย

This role is for someone who:ย

  • has managed a $3Mโ€“$5M+ agency or service business,ย ย

  • Has managed a team of at least 12-15 people and isย very comfortableย hiring and firingย ย

  • understands contribution margin and operational efficiency,ย ย

  • has led remote and international teams,ย ย

  • knows how to hold people accountable,ย ย

  • is calm under pressure,ย ย

  • can makeย difficult decisionsย quickly,ย ย

  • and can createย structureย without creating bureaucracy.ย ย

You areย probably someoneย who:ย

  • loves scorecards,ย ย

  • notices operational drift quickly,ย ย

  • hates excuses,ย ย

  • understands that client retention is operational excellence,ย ย

  • andย knowsย how to balance culture with accountability.ย ย

You must be comfortable leading experienced people, improving underperformers, restructuring workflows, and building systems that scale.ย

Most importantly:ย You must beย execution-focused.ย We do not need another strategist who talks about ideas all day.ย We need someone who can walk into a growing division and help it become tighter, faster, calmer, more profitable, and easier to scale.ย

Requirementsย

Essential Experienceย

  • Experience managing a $3Mโ€“$5M+ marketing agency, coaching business, or service-based companyย ย

  • Healthcare marketing experienceย ย

  • Experience with direct response marketingย ย

  • Experience with SaaS or AI-integrated businessesย ย

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, automations, and project management toolsย ย

  • Experience integrating offshore/international teamsย ย

Key Metricsย Youโ€™llย Ownย

You will be measured on:ย

  • contribution margin,ย ย

  • client retention,ย ย

  • onboarding speed,ย ย

  • delivery efficiency,ย ย

  • client satisfaction,ย ย

  • team accountability,ย ย

  • operational consistency,ย ย

  • and overall divisional performance.ย ย
