Description:

A Lyman-Morse Service Manager oversees boat and yacht service and refit projects. Qualified applicants must have a โ€œcan doโ€ attitude to go above and beyond to ensure the company continues to provide the outstanding service Lyman-Morse customers have come to expect. Communication and coordination with employees and managers of all divisions of the company and participating in the estimating and planning of new projects are key components of the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directing and coordinating the actions of company workers to ensure that high quality products and services are provided to customers on a consistent basis.
  • Working directly with customers on design, estimates, revisions and execution of yacht repair and refit projects
  • Being open to consideration of new technologies, products, processes for construction of specialized projects and other potential offerings.
  • Communicating with the Division Manager regarding major decisions involving construction scheduling, service work, assignment of personnel and other critical issues that might affect project outcomes.
  • Ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe manner to protect workers and the environment.
  • Participating with other members of management in the operation of the business, including customer relationships and other critical functions.
  • Consulting with Human Resources to ensure that sufficient personnel are available to serve the needs of the Company and that all reporting personnel are adequately trained, positioned and compensated for their positions.
  • Participating in regular performance reviews of employees.

Requirements:

Required Experience

  • History of top tier customer service
  • Solid management experience preferably in the marine industry
  • Knowledge of boat repair and maintenance, including sailboats, power boats, dinghies and other watercraft.
  • Experience in the design, planning and construction of high-quality marine projects
  • Ability to estimate and communicate costs of on-going and potential projects
  • Offshore sailing/racing experience desirable
  • Proficiency with ERP systems
