From our beginnings as a premier marine coatings company, we've grown into a multi-craft leader specializing in surface preparation, protective coatings, scaffolding, and industrial access solutions.We're seeking dependable and safety-minded Marine General Laborers to join our team. This position supports a variety of marine and industrial projects by assisting skilled trades, handling materials and equipment, maintaining work areas, and performing general labor duties. If you're hardworking, reliable, and ready to build your skills in the marine and industrial industry, we'd like to hear from you.Pay: Competitive hourly pay, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and applicable licenses.Location: Hampton, Virginia. Local candidates are preferred.What You'll DoAs a Marine General Laborer, you'll provide hands-on support to marine and industrial crews by moving materials, setting up and cleaning work areas, assisting with tools and equipment, and performing general labor tasks as directed. You'll work in active shipyard and industrial environments while following all company, customer, and jobsite safety requirements.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist skilled trades and field crews with daily marine and industrial project activities.Load, unload, move, stage, and organize materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.Set up and break down work areas as directed by supervisors and crew leaders.Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain safe and organized work areas.Remove debris, waste materials, and job-related materials from work areas.Assist with basic surface preparation, cleaning, pressure washing, or other project support activities as directed.Safely use basic hand and power tools when properly trained and authorized.Assist with the setup, movement, and maintenance of hoses, cords, ventilation equipment, and other jobsite equipment.Support painters, blasters, scaffold crews, containment crews, and other skilled trades as assigned.Assist with loading and unloading trucks and company vehicles.Follow all job-specific work instructions and safety procedures.Understand and carry out verbal and written directions given by supervisors.Understand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification, and hazard signs at jobsites.Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, or jobsite concerns to a supervisor.Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.Minimum QualificationsPrevious general labor, construction, shipyard, marine, industrial, manufacturing, or related experience preferred but not required.Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools when trained.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Willingness to learn new skills and support multiple trades and work activities.Ability to work safely in active marine and industrial environments.Strong commitment to safety, dependability, attendance, and teamwork.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience working in a shipyard, marine, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.Experience supporting marine coatings, abrasive blasting, scaffolding, containment, or industrial access crews.Current TWIC Credential or the ability to obtain one if required for assigned work.Forklift, JLG, aerial man-lift, or other applicable equipment training or certifications.Physical RequirementsThis position requires work in demanding marine and industrial environments. Candidates must be able to:Lift up to 70 pounds without assistance.Perform physically demanding work for extended periods.Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the work shift.Work in confined spaces.Work aboard maritime vessels and in active shipyard and industrial environments.Climb ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and access elevated work areas.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective clothing, respiratory protection, and fall protection when required.Perform work in varying weather and environmental conditions.Additional RequirementsMust meet all applicable federal and state employment requirements.Reliable transportation is required.Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening (including marijuana), employment eligibility verification, and background screening where permitted by law.Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and occasional night shifts based on project requirements.
