Job Summary

Are you a team player with a positive attitude that enjoys a fast-paced environment? Do you love utilizing your critical thinking and problem-solving skills? Do you like the idea of having a couple of months off during the winter to go snowmobiling, ice fishing, or to be with family members? Well, look no further! This job could be for you!
Snug Harbor prides itself on being forward facing and customer focused. As a service technician you will work with the service department to address and resolve any emerging problems that our customers might face with accuracy and efficiency. The target is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer needs and wants, and maintain a high rate of customer satisfaction.
Marine certification(s) will be a plus, but we are willing to work with and train the right person. Many marine technicians come from other trades that use similar skills. You must be mechanically inclined, have a good understanding of engines and electrical systems, and have your own tools. Extra consideration will be given to those candidates with marine experience. This is a full time/seasonal position that normally runs April - November.
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Correctly diagnose and repair; major and minor marine systems including engines, steering systems, drive systems, and electrical systems.
  • Lake test vessels for diagnostics purposes and verification of repairs.
  • Operate and maintain marina forklifts, tractors, and trailers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively communicate with the service department.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Work well with team members
  • Proficient in the use of computers and diagnostic software
  • Keep an organized workstation.
  • Keep track of clocked hours per job
Qualifications and Skills

  • Three years of repair experience.
  • Complete set of tools and a toolbox.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and a clean driving record.
  • Positive, friendly attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Team player that enjoys physical challenges. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb in and out of boats on a regular basis.
  • Pay is based on experience.
