Job description

As a Mercury Marine Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of Mercury Marine engines. You will work closely with our team of technicians to ensure that all engines are in optimal working condition. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostics on Mercury Marine engines to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Performing repairs, adjustments, and maintenance tasks on engines, including engine disassembly, reassembly, and component replacements.
  • Troubleshooting electrical mechanical, and fuel system issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Testing engines after repairs to ensure proper functioning and performance.
  • Adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Providing exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining repairs, and providing recommendations for preventative maintenance.
  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Marine Engine Mechanic, specifically with Mercury Marine engines.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mercury Marine engine systems, components, and operating principles.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and software for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in tight spaces.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mercury Marine certification or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with other marine engine brands and systems.
  • Experience with boat rigging, propeller installation, and other related tasks
