Assistant Vice President, Inland Marine Claims, Argo Group

At Argo Group, we invite you to join our Claims organization and elevate your career as our new Assistant Vice President, Inland Marine. Based in one of our offices, this leader reports to the SVP, Specialty Claims, and oversees our Inland Marine Claims Department.

Make Your Mark at Argo Group

At Argo, claims professionals use independent judgment to deliver tailored solutions, benefit from direct access to senior leaders, and work in a collaborative, inclusive environment that values creativity and diverse perspectives.

This role also oversees thirdparty administrators handling Ocean Marine bodily injury and property damage claims, ensuring alignment with program standards, compliance, and performance expectations.
  • Champion strong claims management principles, setting and achieving performance goals, and implementing data-driven claim management.
  • Lead process improvements, collaborating cross-functionally to boost systems, workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain high-performing claims professionals, cultivating technical excellence and exceptional service.
  • Model Argo's values, championing strong claims management and a positive, growth-focused culture for lasting organizational success.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bring over a decade of Inland Marine claims expertise, including five-plus years leading teams and driving high performance.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in claims resolution, settlement practices, and technical procedures, consistently delivering timely, cost-effective results.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen, analytical decision-making, and resilience, thriving in fast-paced environments and adapting to evolving challenges.
  • Lead with emotional intelligence, fostering collaboration, providing meaningful coaching, and building strong relationships across teams and partners.
  • Communicate confidently with executive leadership and peers, leveraging polished presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite and key business software.

At Argo, we value in-person collaboration as fundamental to our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office. Working together in the office strengthens communication and ensures a supportive, productive environment for our team and clients.

The base salary range is $166,000 - $194,000 (based on experience and location). Additionally, this position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. We're proud to offer a range of competitive and comprehensive benefits packages.
