Job description

The Abbey Marina, located on the west end of the lake, is a full-service 417 slip facility with the only protected harbor on Geneva Lake. The marina has boats ranging in size from 19’ up to 42’. The marina offers a wide variety of amenities, which include water and electric service at the slip, dock box, wireless internet, private parking, clubhouse for marina members with a private bar, showers, and changing areas, and lastly a heated in-ground pool. The marina is open to our members from April 1st through October 31st each year.

We serve pizza, burgers, dogs and brats, quesadillas, wraps, weekly specials & various other easy-to-prepare items. Activity will be extremely rapid at peak times. The ability to think on your feet and keep track of a large number of orders will be key to success in our kitchen. Knowledge of food safety, basic Knife skills, and inventory skills would be beneficial; if not, training will be provided. This job will help develop critical thinking skills and teach you about Customer service and the food and beverage industry.

Position Summary

The Lead Cook is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting team performance. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality dining experience for members and guests.

Hour Expectations

Expect Full-Time Hours May through September, with some part-time work available in the fall and spring. You must be available to work weekends throughout the summer.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead, train, and support kitchen staff

· Ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation

· Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards

· Manage daily kitchen setup, execution, and breakdown

· Monitor inventory and communicate needs to management
