Animal Care Technician - Hopalong Foster Program (Part-Time - 20hrs/week)
Location:1035 22nd Ave. Ste. 1A, Oakland, CA
Pay: $23.43-$26.03/hour DOE

Marin Humane is seeking a compassionate, dependable Animal Care Technician to join our Hopalong Foster Program in Oakland. In this rewarding role, you'll help provide exceptional daily care for foster animals while supporting foster families, adopters, volunteers, and the dedicated team working together to transform lives.
Every day brings opportunities to make a real difference-from preparing animals for foster homes and adoption events to providing enrichment, documenting medical and behavioral observations, and ensuring every animal receives the highest standard of care.
What You'll Do
โ€ข Provide compassionate daily care for cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens
โ€ข Clean, sanitize, and maintain safe, healthy animal housing
โ€ข Feed, medicate, exercise, and enrich animals in your care
โ€ข Support foster families with animal pickups, supplies, and paperwork
โ€ข Assist with adoption events and help connect animals with loving homes
โ€ข Create engaging adoption profiles using foster updates and photos
โ€ข Transport animals and supplies between program locations
โ€ข Collaborate with volunteers and fellow team members to support program success
โ€ข Deliver outstanding customer service to adopters, fosters, and the public
We're Looking For Someone Who
โ€ข Has experience working with animals or animal husbandry (preferred)
โ€ข Demonstrates compassion, patience, and sound animal handling skills
โ€ข Communicates professionally and enjoys working with people
โ€ข Stays organized and calm in a busy, ever-changing environment
โ€ข Is comfortable performing physically active work, including lifting up to 50 pounds
โ€ข Enjoys working both independently and collaboratively
