Job description

Zoox's Road Network team is responsible for developing the software, tools, and processes needed to build and manage our high-definition road network. The ZRN Tooling team is responsible for the suite of applications Cartographers use daily to create, analyze, and validate the foundational road network maps used by the autonomy stack.
As a member of the ZRN Tooling team, you will build software and systems that enable our Cartography team. You'll be working on the software that directly enables our ability to drive safely on our roads. This includes our flagship 3D Map Editor, automated triaging and planning tools, and all the automation required to validate and deliver the map. The ZRN map underpins many systems at Zoox, so you'll also work closely with teams to create new APIs and ensure our users are supported as they build map-driven systems.
In this role, you will:
  • You will design, develop, and test features for our road network applications, such as the Map Editor, Triage tools, and validation pipeline
  • You will build out the content pipeline and automation that enables Cartographers to produce ZRN data accurately and quickly
  • You will create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation
  • You will contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation

Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of industry experience
  • Fluency with Python or C++
  • Experience with OpenGL, WebGL, and graphics programming
  • Experience with Fast API, Postgres, REST web services, and operational support
  • Experience with AWS, cloud-based service providers, and service monitoring

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with React, Javascript, and web application development
  • Experience with mapping systems, GIS, spatial algorithms, routing, or graph theory
  • Experience with Rust

$172,000 - $230,000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
