Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manufacturing Manager to support the daily operations of our manufacturing department. This role will work directly under the Manufacturing Manager to help oversee production activities, improve workflow efficiency, support team leadership, and ensure product quality and safety standards are met. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in manufacturing or production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manufacturing Manager in supervising and coordinating daily production operations

  • Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products

  • Help maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies

  • Support staff training and provide guidance to production team members as needed

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as output, downtime, and efficiency

  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives

  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly; report and follow up on maintenance needs

  • Collaborate with other departments including Quality Control, Logistics, and Inventory

  • Assist with staffing schedules and shift planning as required

  • Fill in for the Manufacturing Manager during absences or as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations management, engineering, or related field preferred

  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment; prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead by example and support a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus
