Job description

Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Composite Technician. We are looking for technicians for 1st shift (6:00am-3:30pm) and 2nd Shift (3:00pm-12:30am).
Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our West Jordan, Utah location and reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
Position Summary:
The primary position covers all levels of general composites fabrication using various processes which include roll wrapping, filament winding, prepreg lay-up, vacuum bagged wet lay-up, and oven curing. You will be responsible for various tasks related to composite fabrication, bonding, and assembly. Your ability to interpret technical documents, perform precise lay-ups, and ensure the quality of finished products will be crucial.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for all aspects of final processing for composite parts
  • Machine operating; roll wrapping, filament winding, press machines, CNC machining, etc.
  • Loading/Unloading materials and parts
  • Deflashing
  • Grinding, sanding, cutting, boring, and painting composite parts tubes to specified dimensions
  • Slitting, drilling and other miscellaneous finish work using fixtures

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience required; experience with composites preferred.
  • Backgrounds in wood, metal, auto body, or other work requiring strong hand coordination are also highly valued.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and engineering prints.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers and tape measures to verify part dimensions and accuracy
  • Ability to work without direct supervision to established manufacturing times
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • US. Person under 22 CFR 120 (due to ITAR Restrictions)

Compensation:
The hourly range for this position falls within $18-$27. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
