Job Purpose
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient material flow. This role provides direct leadership to shipping and receiving personnel while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The supervisor plays a key role in supporting customer expectations, operational performance, and continuous improvement within the Specialty Line of Business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and develop shipping and receiving team members, supporting skill development and performance improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, shipping, receiving, and accountability requirements.
  • Oversee accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, ensuring proper segregation, organization, and warehouse location control.
  • Operate and maintain required certifications for material handling equipment including forklifts, banding equipment, pneumatic manipulators, and pallet jacks.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Apply 5S and Lean principles to improve warehouse flow, productivity, and workplace organization.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution; minimum of one year experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and material handling equipment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and third-party shipping or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
