Job description


We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our CDBS (Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems) location at York, SC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead Execution and Accountability: Provide direction, delegate responsibilities appropriately, remove barriers, and ensure teams have the resources needed to achieve performance targets.
  • Champion Engagement, Inclusion, and Conflict Resolution: Create a positive work culture where employees feel valued, motivated, respected, and equipped to address challenges constructively.
  • Advance Safety and Continuous Improvement: Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture while leading root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and driving process improvements that reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Production Leadership: Successfully drive SQDCP performance by meeting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives while maintaining efficient daily operations.
  • Team Development & Accountability: Lead, coach, and motivate hourly employees by fostering engagement, managing performance expectations, and building a positive, accountable team culture.
  • Operational Problem Solving: Monitor production performance in real time, quickly address downtime or bottlenecks, and collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and support teams to minimize disruptions.
  • Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Champion a safety-first environment, ensure adherence to policies and 5S standards, and leverage production data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational excellence.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Supervisory experience preferred.
