Position:Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager

Location:Irvine, CA

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

The Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager (EHS Manager) will help establish strategy and operational models for DZYNE Technologies. The EHS Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive EHS program at DZYNE Technologies, a growing defense and aerospace manufacturing company with multiple U.S. sites, including its largest manufacturing facility in Irvine, CA. This role is responsible for establishing policies, systems, and culture to ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry best practices while safeguarding employees during manufacturing and remote or offsite product test operations. The EHS Manager will build and implement reporting tools, drive risk assessments, manage hazardous materials and waste programs, and develop training and emergency response plans. Acting as a strategic partner to operations and leadership, this position will champion safety excellence and environmental stewardship across all facilities.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing; defense/aerospace experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building or maturing an EHS program from manual/minimal to a digitalized, high-reliability system across multiple sites.
  • Deep knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8, OSHA general industry, IIPP, HazCom, LOTO, ergonomics, heat illness, wildfire smoke, and incident recordkeeping.
  • Environmental compliance experience in California: DTSC/RCRA, CUPA programs, stormwater (IGP), SPCC, air districts permitting, universal waste, and hazardous materials shipping (DOT/PHMSA; IATA/ICAO), and other states requirements.
  • Hands-on experience supportingfield/test operations(preferably aviation/UAS) with robust site safety planning.
  • Strong root cause analysis capability and corrective action management.
  • Demonstrated skills in influencing and coaching.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, SMS (Safety Management Systems) or equivalent.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 implementation and audits; familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 environments.
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR interfaces with HSE processes; DoD customer audits.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 107 operations for small UAS and range/test safety concepts.
  • Industrial hygiene sampling, environmental reporting, and air permit coordination (e.g., SCAQMD).
Education:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial standard, or related field.

This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable exportcontrol eligibilityrequirements and compliance obligations.

Work Authorization Requirement:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary:$115,000 to $135,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
