Job description

Description:

Precision Door Service (PDS) is seeking an experienced Safety Manager who will implement, manage and sustain the overall health & safety of our people. Youโ€™ll create a culture of safety across the organization at every level to achieve a goal of zero injuries while managing safety programs including OSHA, IIPPโ€™s, defensive driving, and PPE just to name a few. As a workerโ€™s compensation expert, youโ€™ll manage claims, reduce lost workdays and decrease costs. Youโ€™ll collaborate with leaders and use business insights to proactively inspect, audit and identify opportunities to improve safety. In your spare time, youโ€™ll help on a variety of small and major initiatives that will be fun, challenging, and make a giant impact.


What you will do:

  • Develop, implement and manage strategic health & safety programs tailored to residential and light commercial work environments, including construction, maintenance, and in-home service visits
  • Create, implement and maintain safety plans, policies, procedures and records such as manuals, MSDS binders, IIPPโ€™s and other required and best practice documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Develop, conduct and/or provide regular safety training including but not limited to onboarding, OSHA, defensive driving, ladder safety, lifting techniques and certifications while maintaining up-to-date training records
  • Lead, guide and support the safety committee, safety meetings and promotes an overall culture of safety throughout the organization
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify workplace hazards and ensure the proactive safety of our people
  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents and near-misses while developing robust reporting mechanisms to identify trends
  • Manage, evaluate and recommend safety equipment, PPE and supplies
  • Oversee workerโ€™s compensation, occupational clinic relationships, incident and OSHA logs, injury management, light duty accommodations and return to work
  • Conduct regular reporting, loss control and analysis of safety data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and risk reduction


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive workplace safety experience in construction, home services, manufacturing or similar industry with at least 3 years in a safety management role
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge and experience working with GL, Workerโ€™s Compensation and auto insurance providers in addition to Retro Programs, TPAโ€™s and L&I
  • Similarly strong working knowledge of industry safety standards, OSHA regulations, fall protection, ladder safety, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication standards
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel 15-20%
