Job description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Plant Supervisor to add to our Water Project Team located in Kapolei, HI. The Plant Supervisor operates on site supervising crews of Environmental Technicians as necessary at our Kapolei, HI location. This position will also be helping with upcoming water construction projects based in Hawaii. This position requires some travel to the CONUS and/or globally as needed.

Pay Range DOE: $26-$36 per HR

Office: 91-220 Kalaeloa Blvd Kapolei, HI 96707

Shift: 12-hour shifts; 24/7 plant; OT is required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental studies preferred;

  • Experience working with water treatment, building filtrations systems, working in wastewater treatment plants highly preferred;

  • 3+ years of supervisor experience is preferred;

  • Water certifications are a plus;

  • Valid and clean driver's license and acceptable MVR;

  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations;

  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments;

  • Demonstrated leadership ability;

  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis;

  • Strong mechanical ability preferred;

  • Knowledge of chemicals preferred;

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred);

  • After hire will need to pass a federal level background check, DBIDS. Failure to pass this will possibly result in termination as this is required to work at the location;

  • All other duties as required by Management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching in confined spaces; Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more (with or without lenses); Requires sitting for extended periods.  Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including levels A,B,C,D & E, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion;

  • Available for 24/day oncall basis;

  • Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English;

  • Position involves strenuous physical exertion.  Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs.
