The Role

The primary responsibilities of the Project Engineer is to perform engineering design evaluations and work complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints. They support activities such as resource planning, scheduling, in addition to contributing technically to initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead development of detailed engineering project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead the design and development of deliverables to all specifications.
  • Perform 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks and/or CREO.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with technical requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the creation and validation of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot design and production issues, implementing solutions to improve system performance.
  • Evaluate design changes and ensure their integration into the final product.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams, program management, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure design intent is met.
  • Plan and oversee testing of hardware to validate performance and reliability.
  • Analyze test results, identify failure modes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support prototype development and iterative design improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
  • Stay updated on advancements in aerospace technology and incorporate innovative solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Identify technical and schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Interface with customers to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Present project updates, design concepts, and test results to clients and upper management.
  • Uphold the company core values.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Report project status and metrics to stakeholders and management.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, RF/Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering degree.
  • At least 3 years related experience.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to follow instructions and procedures and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be capable of reading drawings and inspecting the work being performed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with passive RF antenna components, feeds, and assemblies desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an authentic desire to build relationships, share knowledge, and positively impact.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Familiarity with MS Projects.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience.
  • Working knowledge of analysis software.
