Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company is seeking a qualified candidate for a position as a machine operator to operate, maintain and troubleshoot production line equipment at our Atlanta-Main facility. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Home Care and Laundry products. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production lines operate efficiently with minimal downtime while adhering to site safety practices. Production lines vary in heavy industrial machinery equipment; the operator's technical skills will utilize a combination of mechanical knowledge for products to be at the highest standards of quality. This role offers an engaging environment where your technical skills will directly contribute to high-quality product output. We welcome candidates who are eager to develop their expertise in advanced manufacturing processes while maintaining safety standards. Starting Hourly rate: $24.63 with shift differential (if applicable for overnight hours). Shift-12hr. schedule, operating in a 2-2-3, in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. Offering excellent compensation and benefits package.

In this role, you will:

  • Operate packaging equipment, ensuring that it is set up and maintained properly.

  • Perform changeovers on all equipment, following established procedures and protocols.

  • Fix and repair any equipment malfunctions or failures, using your mechanical knowledge and skills.

  • Identify and accurately solve quality problems, collaborating with teams as needed to ensure that products meet or exceed established quality standards.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and parts assigned, ordering replacements as needed.

  • Assist with completion of improvement projects and equipment installations, working with the engineering team as needed.

  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.

  • Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with established procedures.

  • Attending all the training sessions required, staying up to date on new equipment and technologies.

  • Safety is a core value at Clorox; therefore, all employees must perform all their work in accordance with OSHA and Clorox safety standards.

What we look for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; (some vocational/technical or mechanical coursework in similar areas, highly preferred).

  • The minimum of 2yrs. Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is ideal. (3+ yrs. highly preferred).

  • A resume is required.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and/or call out minor repairs to mechanical issues with equipment due to jams, adjustments, and calibrations.

  • Mechanical technical skills (highly preferred).

  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and processes, as well as quality control principles, i.e., SOP's, GMPs, 5S's, WCM.

  • Able to collaborate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and various team members.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Strong attention to detail, able to follow established procedures and protocols.

  • Other transferable skills such as mechanics, maintenance, blow molding, or machine-shop (preferred).

  • Military/Veteran experience (preferred).

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production area for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to operate and maintain equipment.

  • Manual dexterity for handling tools, parts, and machinery components.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to machinery.

  • Work periods of 12 hr. shifts

  • Familiar with packaging equipment, manufacturing production lines, and efficiency along with processes.
