Title: Production Supervisor

Business Platform: Electronics & Controls

Business Unit: Cargo Solutions

Location: Kennesaw, GA

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

THE ROLE

The Refurbishing Operations team builds, tests, and packages used cargo monitoring trackers. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, supporting production schedules, coordinating materials, and ensuring employees are properly trained to meet operational goals. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Supervise daily assembly, testing, and quality activities within the assigned production area.

* Support production scheduling to ensure customer demand and operational goals are achieved.

* Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Supply Chain and Purchasing teams to maintain material availability.

* Ensure compliance with Cargo Solutions refurbishing requirements, work instructions, and shop standards.

* Provide employee coaching, training, and performance feedback while monitoring attendance and adherence to company policies.

* Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment and ensure employees follow all safety procedures.

* Communicate production status, material shortages, quality concerns, and operational updates to management and cross-functional teams.

* Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to support existing products, process improvements, and prototype builds.

* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.

* Maintain accurate production records, operational metrics, and visual management boards.

* Assist with problem-solving activities and support corrective actions for production and quality issues.

* Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments to support overall business objectives.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager or Operations leadership.

* They are responsible for the safety of their colleagues, following the schedule, troubleshooting issues, delegating tasks, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Enforcing safety procedures, conducting safety audits, and maintaining a safe work environment.

* Working with QA to have the work instructions up-to-date.

Skill and Educational Requirements

  • Lean or Six Sigma training preferred
  • Two years related experience and/or training
  • Associate's (AA) degree preferred.
  • Possess good organization and data analysis skills
  • Computer skills including ERP systems, MS Office, E-mail, and current Windows OS.

Working Conditions

* Salary, Exempt* Various hours within Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5:30 pm with a half-hour lunch and two 10-minute breaks

Overtime, including Saturdays, as required to meet business demand.
