Located in Bristol, Rhode Island for over 50 years, Tri-Mack Plastics is a leading manufacturer of high-temperature thermoplastic components for the aerospace-defense, semiconductor, energy and medical industries.

Position: Aerospace Manufacturing Quality Manager
Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall Quality Control for all products manufactured at Tri-Mack Plastics and for directing and managing all Quality Control personnel. This position will ensure that any parts produced and shipped are subject to adequate controls and are in conformance with all customer specifications. This position is the main contact for all customer-related quality issues from NPI through completion. This includes fielding all customer-related complaints, establishing corrective actions and implementing improvements to our quality system. This position reports to the President.
Responsibilities& Accountabilities:
  • Oversee the inspection activity for products throughout the NPI and production cycle. Provide guidance, support and input for the development and specifications for all quality plans, including First Articles Inspections and Tech plans.
  • Manage and control all customer contact with regard to quality issues.
  • Investigate and correct all customer issues and complaints relating to quality. This requires using all tools available (i.e. root-cause analysis) to ensure a satisfactory resolution both internally and externally.
  • Determine the process for containment escapes and develop short and long-term corrective actions.
  • Communicate all findings to the Tri-Mack Management team as well as the customer.
  • Analyze trends in complaints, escapes and near misses and implement improvements in our quality system.
  • Lead the daily MRB meetings and serve as Tri-Mack's Chief Inspector.
  • Review, revise and update ISO work instructions as necessary.
  • Supervise the Quality Team to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Set an example for positive and professional behavior.
  • Integrate process control data analysis into final inspection plans.
  • Prepare monthly management reports relating to quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Work with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts and materials.
  • Keep abreast of requirement changes and implement strategies to ensure Tri-Mack's compliance.
  • Be the champion for Tri-Mack's quality control philosophy and constantly communicate the necessity for quality parts and service to all employees.
  • Adhere to all AS9100 requirements.
  • Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner, show respect for your fellow workers and all company and personal property, and demonstrate Tri-Mack core values - Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability, and Durability.
  • All other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education, Skills & Experience:
  • BA/BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration or Statistics is preferred.
  • 7- 10 years of experience working in a direct management role in Quality Engineering or Quality Control required.
  • AS9100 Aerospace quality experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working directly with customers and addressing customer complaints required.
  • Experience in maintaining ISO, AS and NADCAP Compliance and Certification required.
  • Previous experience in plastic injection molding or composites environment preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience (Green Belt/Black Belt) with a proven track record of business performance is preferred.
  • Strong command of GD&T required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
