Job description

The Manufacturing Associate provides support to both the Color Department and Warehouse Operations and will generally work Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.ย  As such, this role performs a wide variety of general manual labor tasks including tinting batches, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.ย  This position will also assist with preparing and blending materials used in wood coating production.ย  The Manufacturing Associate will operate a variety of tools to complete assignments according to internal and external policies and regulations.ย  In general, this role provides assistance as needed to Operations and the Lab with manual labor tasks in support of the facilityโ€™s goal to provide unrivaled customer service in the area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with making and tinting batches to color specification as the priority task
  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps
  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift or pallet jack
  • Pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment
  • Utilize a variety of machines for shipping purposes
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect and store merchandise/materials, and assist with restocking
  • Follow hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Arrive on time and adapt to changing priorities
  • Manage time efficiently and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing or as a general laborer

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to see color variation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Strong math skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, proficiency with MS Office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver drums, containers, and material carts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm motions when measuring, pouring, and mixing materials.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach when loading materials into mixing equipment or retrieving supplies.
  • Ability to climb ladders or steps to access mixing tanks or storage areas when necessary.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for precise measuring and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read labels, batch sheets, and measuring instruments, including color or shade variations when applicable.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, respirators, and protective clothing.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, odors, chemicals, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts as required
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while working in a fast-paced production environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work around moving machinery such as conveyors, mixers, and filling equipment.
  • Ability to work around chemicals, lubricants, cleaning agents, and tank-washing systems, following all safety protocols.
