The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for development and maintenance of the site quality management system. The Quality Assurance Manager ensures internal and external quality requirements are met, and ensures the adequacy of all QA test equipment, test training, inspections/quality tests, and record keeping. Maintain/improve upon the TL 9000 quality system and maintain the associated certification.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain/improve upon the TL 9000 quality system, and maintain the associated certification
  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality.
  • Ensure the adequacy of the overall gauge calibration system, all quality tests, incoming inspection, record keeping, reports, and data analysis
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of all QA test equipment and software
  • Manage QA testers to assure efficient and proper testing of all cables, and manage QA Technician to assure adequate training and performance
  • Ensure an effective internal audit and corrective action system.
  • Prepare management reports that show the quality performance of our organization and the effectiveness of our quality management systems. Provide accurate and timely feedback to production, engineering, management, and suppliers when issues occur that can impact the quality of our products and services.
  • Maintains compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  • Work with customers as necessary to solve quality concerns or meet customer quality objectives.
  • Promote continual improvement
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Strong technical knowledge of wire and cable manufacturing processes/operations and inspections/tests.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all hourly personnel and all levels of management, as well as customers and external vendors, inspectors, etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with conceptual and analytical ability to interpret and implement contractual requirements both written and implied.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Must have objective, sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and NQA-1 standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in managing an ISO 9001, TL 9000, or similar quality management system.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
