Position Summary:
HII - Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Manager to join our Huntsville Production Team in support of U.S. Army and U.S. Navy programs involving the design, development, production, and delivery of Part Task Trainer (PTT) training systems. In this role, the Manufacturing Manager will oversee the day-to-day execution of manufacturing operations, ensuring products are built safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The Manufacturing Manager will focus on shop floor operations, workforce leadership, process improvement, and manufacturing execution.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Supports employees responsible for assembling component parts into subassemblies, finished assemblies, packaging, and completed units.
  • Manage the production lifecycle of multiple PTT systems, ensuring build accuracy, configuration compliance, and on-time delivery.
  • Supports the Development and maintainenance of production schedules, resource plans, and detailed build instructions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, quality assurance, procurement, and program management teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Monitor production risks, resolve operational and scheduling issues, and implement mitigation strategies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing), Manufacturing Technology, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field or Masters with direct experience in related field.
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 3-5 years in a manufacturing leadership role (Manufacturing Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor, Operations Manager, or equivalent).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Active Secret clearance with the US DOD
  • Experience managing manufacturing operations in a low-volume, high-mix production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing teams to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Strong MS Project experience

Preferred Requirements
  • ASCM/APICS CPIM certification
  • Experience manufacturing complex electro-mechanical, electronic, or integrated systems.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, integration, testing, and product acceptance activities.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods, tooling, fixtures, and process controls.
  • Workforce planning and labor utilization
  • PMP Certification

Physical Requirements
  • May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
