Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager Location: Ford City, PA Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 Overview: Leads daily manufacturing operations, personnel, and cross-functional initiatives to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Execute production schedules and manage labor, equipment, and material resources to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive accountability for production output.
  • Support forecasting, capacity planning, and operational growth initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing personnel, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning to build a strong team culture.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, throughput, and machine utilization.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing systems, procedures, and standard work.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to support decision-making and operational excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that support company growth.
  • Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with ISO requirements, customer expectations, and company standards.
  • Support corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement activities related to quality and safety.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Quality, Purchasing, and Maintenance to align customer demand with manufacturing execution.
  • Support new product introductions, project transitions, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Remove barriers, improve communication, and drive alignment across departments.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a machining, metalworking, fabrication, or precision manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing production personnel and daily manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, production flow, tooling, fixturing, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and labor management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience utilizing production metrics and data to drive operational decisions and performance improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively across Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Purchasing, and Maintenance functions.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.
