Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager directs all Maintenance efforts to ensure plant Quality, Efficiency, Safety,

Financial, and regulatory goals are met or exceeded as directed by the Plant Manager. The Maintenance

Manager must have effective administration skills as well as organizational capabilities. The Maintenance

Manager will lead, coach, and develop the team to ensure an effective and positive culture.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities listed below define the primary duties of the position. As business demands may evolve,

additional duties may be assigned to this role by your immediate supervisor.

Leadership

  • Conduct all work and communication in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Facilitate a heathy work environment for all Crown employees.
  • Coach and Lead maintenance personnel to facilitate a teamwork environment.
  • Effectively collaborate with all departments to ensure all Crown expectations are met.
  • Take full ownership of the department.
  • Understand and uphold all of Crown Bakeries expectations and standard.

Plant Efficiency

  • Ensure uptime of equipment by managing systems and resources effectively.
  • Track known and ongoing issues by means of KPI’s and CMMS.
  • Resolve known and ongoing issues in a timely manner.
  • Determine rout cause of equipment failure and down time.
  • Implement permanent solutions to equipment failure and down time.
  • Work closely with OEM’s to ensure health of equipment training of personnel.
  • Coordinate and facilitate improvement projects both in house and through capital
  • expenditure.

PM program

  • Manage systems and resources to ensure all equipment has a documented preventative maintenance plan.
  • Ensure the frequency of the preventative maintenance plan is optimized based on plant schedules.
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct audits of the preventive maintenance program to ensure effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate OEM visits for critical equipment to ensure the health of the equipment and in house PM compliance.

Inventory

  • Manage systems and resources to ensure an accurate and organized inventory of parts.
  • Identify critical spare parts and ensure they are stocked or readily available.
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of all parts.
  • Conduct audits of the inventory and management system to ensure compliance with expectations.
  • Work with outside agencies and vendors to ensure part availability.
  • Coordinate OEM visits to ensure critical spare parts are identified and on hand parts are sufficient to ensure the uptime of the equipment.

Financials

  • Manage systems and resources to ensure maintenance financial budgets are understood and met.
  • Understand cost drivers within the budget and seek improvements in cost reduction
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of all maintenance related financials.
  • Keep records of all capital projects and related financials.
  • Manage labor budgets and head count expectations.

Personnel

  • Manage systems and resources to ensure accuracy and approval of work history for all maintenance personnel.
  • Work closely with human resources and recruiters to ensure the proper head count is maintained in the maintenance department.
  • Set clear expectations within the department and uphold company standers.
  • Coordinate and conduct trainings to ensure all maintenance personnel are trained and capable for meeting expectations.
  • Keep up to date and accurate personnel records.

Reporting

  • Report down time and waste related to equipment issues.
  • Report PM completion and compliance.
  • Report inventory levels and gaps.
  • Report financial compliance for all maintenance related budgets.
  • Report CAPEX needs and ongoing projects.
  • Report personnel current state and opening within the maintenance department.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • 5 or more years of proven experience as a Maintenance leader preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance processes and strategies.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices in maintenance.
