What's in it for you:
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes and/or projects in site facilities to optimize manufacturing of units and the required components. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and deploy projects while adhering to best practices and maintaining high-quality standards. Lead plant Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to evaluate and identify potential failures related to operational processes.
Where is the work: Arecibo Facility, Puerto Rico
What you will do:
  • Owns all plant manufacturing instructions and analyzing routine process steps to reduce potential risks of quality defects during assembly processes.
  • Identify the cause of failure, testing and improve manufacturing processes to avoid the repetition of similar incidents.
  • Keep updated all documentation related to manufacturing process (JBS, Control Plans and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) during new layout or lean events.
  • Coordinate and follow up all necessary activities to revise and approve all documentations protocols on time.
  • Work together with the Training Manager to ensure that employees affected during any plant changes will be trainee with the last revision updated related to the new initiative
  • Create detailed technical specifications, documentation, and standard operating procedures for manufacturing instructions and systems.
  • Perform system integration, configuration, testing, and deployment of quality control level improvements to improve warranty customers claims
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, quality assurance, and operations teams, to reduce workmanship errors by integrate engineering solutions and methods to reduce the opportunities to create defects during the assembly processes.
  • Oversees the operations and maintenance of machinery/software in manufacturing.
  • Conducts / leads or participates in Process Mapping, FMEA and Problem-Solving initiatives to promote and ensure that Thermo King processes are continuously improving and operating in a waste elimination mode.
  • Implements processes in accordance to Lean / DFT principles and serves as facilitator for other employees including supervision, management and hourly to work within lean principles.
  • Lead assigned team in developing new strategies for optimal processes and addressing issues and concerns to improve quality issues. Identify areas necessary to change or improve technology on the current manufacturing processes. Prepares and implements detailed plans to ensure that new technology and product transfers and new product introductions are implemented within the required timeframe and cost.
  • Facilitates / leads implementation of processes required to achieve elements of the facility Strategic Plan and Scorecard objectives including elements such as Five S, ISO, Ergonomics program and Operational Excellence Plan. Create metrics or methods to measure project execution and adherence to budget and productivity.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Define project plans and delivery commitments aligned with the operations plan using UTM and Windchill as the official business platforms for work. Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and required tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine tools, product and services specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Oversees development of new projects and their financial execution
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Manage the administration of the Capital Funding and Productivity Project Deck assisting projects leaders in the business case completion. Monitors, measures, and reports plant productivity projects. Coordinates implementation of Projects included in the facility annual Capital Plan and ensures timely implementation of it as per schedule.
  • Identifies needs and proposes elements to be included in the annual Capital Plan.
  • Trains other employees in Lean and other processes such as ISO procedures, PFMEA, Process Mapping and use of appropriate manufacturing methods.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain the work area clean and organized.
  • Support lean initiatives (5s, RIE's, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including EHS and ISO requirements.

What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSIS, BSME, BSEE)
Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering.
Proficient in Project Management
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
Problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent presentation and communications skills.
Teamwork and customer service oriented.
Good interpersonal skills.
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Computer knowledge (MS office, etc.)
Knowledgeable of ISO

$83,695.00 - $117,285.00
