Screw Machine Manufacturing Engineer
Our client is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development, tooling design, and continuous improvement for our Acme-Gridley and Davenport multi-spindle automatic screw machine operations. Responsibilities include:
- Develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Design tooling layouts, cam configurations, tooling sequences, and machine setups for Acme-Gridley and Davenport screw machines
- Perform complex machine setups and approve new jobs
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting for machining, tooling, and process issues
- Lead initiatives to reduce setup times, scrap, downtime, tooling costs, and cycle times
- Perform first-piece inspections and support root cause investigations
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities
- Maintain LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands on experience in a high-volume manufacturing engineering role
- Experience in the setup, operation, and engineering of Acme, Tornos, or Davenport screw machines
- Proficiency in grinding and setting form tools, shave tools, drills, and cutoffs
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar design software
