Bottleless Nation is seeking a Controller in Indianapolis to support our manufacturing division

The Manufacturing Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end close, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Controller also helps drive process improvements, supports operational decision-making, and may supervise accounting staff.

Job Responsibilities:

· Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements

· Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports in accordance with GAAP

· Oversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation

· Monitor inventory transactions, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes

· Partner with operations and plant leadership to analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and manufacturing variances

· Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, inventory, and plant accounting

· Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unusual trends or discrepancies

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes

· Coordinate audit support and prepare schedules for external auditors, tax advisors, and internal reviews

· Supervise and mentor accounting staff, helping to prioritize workloads and develop team capabilities

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability

· Assist with ERP system maintenance, reporting enhancements, and cross-functional financial initiatives

Essential Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

· CPA designation or progress toward CPA strongly preferred

· 5+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment

· Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and internal controls

· Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis

· Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems, with a focus on Manufacturing ERP solutions (including NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms)

· Demonstrated ability to lead processes, solve problems, and support cross-functional teams
