Protech Materials is a growing thin film coating material manufacturer and distributor supplying to the needs of the vacuum coating industry. Our processes and products are at the intersection of material science, engineering, and craftsmanship. We are a build to print shop and work on different products almost every day and are seeking a manufacturing associate to join our team.
The manufacturing associate will contribute to the company’s sputtering target business and make an impact in a variety of areas including manufacturing, shipping & receiving, material reclaim, quality, and equipment maintenance. In our small team we wear many heads and we work on different products almost every day; The new team member will be trained on all preparatory work and processing tasks conducting bonding and casting. With this training in the specialty work we do the candidate will advance to a bonding process technician within a year.
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, detailed oriented, and take pride in creating material products that meet the requirements of our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Component cleaning in preparation of the bonding process.
- Masking and thin film coating of sputter materials.
- Support bonding and casting activities as needed.
- Post process target assembly cleaning and surface conditioning.
- Extract and prepare reclaim materials for shipping.
- Quality inspections using calipers and gauges.
- Receive and prepare shipments of assemblies and materials.
- Prepare documentation needed in the shipping process such as labels, packing slips, certificate of analysis, BOL, import/export papers as needed.
- Perform basic facility and equipment maintenance as part of the PM program
- Works in a team with other production team members under the guidance of engineer and supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: High school or 2-year associate degree in a technical area.
- Work Experience: 2 years minimum
- Field-of-Expertise: Hands-on work in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- Preferred Field-of-Expertise in two of these areas: process manufacturing, shipping & receiving, metal manufacturing, machining, auto repair, facility or equipment maintenance.
- Ability to lift products weighing 50 pounds and more occasionally

- High school level math capability to calculate weights and dimensions.
- Ability to read and clearly understand requirements, work instructions, and online shipping software.

- Good computer skills - Familiarity with Excel and Word. Experience with MES or shipping software a plus.
