Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Systems Administrator to provide hands-on IT support at our Decatur, IL manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be the primary onsite resource responsible for maintaining factory continuity, resolving incidents quickly, and serving as the liaison between the facility, vendors, and enterprise IT teams. This is a fast-paced, highly visible role where your ability to act with urgency, communicate clearly, and drive issues to resolution will directly impact daily manufacturing operations and the end-user experience across the site.
Key Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Maintain factory continuity and reduce downtime by quickly resolving incidents affecting manufacturing systems, end-user devices, and site infrastructure.
  • Own and drive the ticket queue to closure, prioritizing high-impact issues and ensuring timely resolution with clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Act as the onsite liaison between the Decatur facility, vendors, and enterprise IT teams - coordinating troubleshooting, escalations, and follow-through.
  • Identify recurring issues, recommend fixes, and support standardization and self-service initiatives to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Support digital and automation improvement initiatives including low-code/no-code applications, data transformation and visualization, and process enhancements to streamline support and operations.
  • Strengthen the end-user experience through customer-focused support, proactive communication, and basic training and guidance where needed.
  • Act with urgency to resolve any issues that impact factory operations.
  • Action and manage incoming ticket queues and mobile device issues in a timely manner.
Team Structure & Work Environment
  • You will be part of a small, collaborative IT team of three, supporting manufacturing operations across the Decatur facility.
  • Daily interaction with team members, factory floor personnel, and shop floor supervisors across various levels of the organization.
  • This is a fully on-site role, five days per week, embedded within an active manufacturing environment.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting IT in a manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow (preferred), Remedy, or Atlassian Jira.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Office, SharePoint, Power BI, and related tools.
  • Basic PC troubleshooting across desktops, laptops, peripherals, software, and device configurations.
  • Mobile device support and troubleshooting for phones, tablets, and end-user mobility needs.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure, including connectivity troubleshooting and awareness of factory network environments.
