Job Duties

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installation of CNC and other manufacturing production equipment
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions;
  • Diagnoses electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and thermal machinery problems;
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area;
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems;
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts and realigns and adjusts components of machines;
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair;
  • Procures repair parts and maintains inventory levels according to machinery breakdown histories;
  • Repairs broken parts and performs all repairs in an efficient, safe and timely manner according to company policies;
  • Sets priorities and schedules machine repairs and maintenance according to production/customer demands;
  • Documents repairs/preventative maintenance history via software and database;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor;
  • Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy.

Additional Skills & Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Associate Degree in EET or MET, minimum 5 years’ experience preferred;
  • Possess proficiency with all diagnostic equipment, blueprint reading, electrical/electronic schematic interpretation, and pneumatic and thermal diagram understand;
  • Must possess computer operation and troubleshooting skills;
  • CNC and G code knowledge preferred;
  • Good communication and organization skills;
  • Ability to work well with others;
  • Must be available to work as much overtime as needed;
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
