Job description

United Performance Metal's rapidly growing Advanced Solutions Center is looking to add a Grinder and Milling Operator to their 2nd shift teams. Supported by O’Neal Industries with 100 years of expertise, this opening will provide you the opportunity to learn what it takes to distribute specialty metals across the globe. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Second shift Monday-Thursday 3 pm to 130 am ( 4 10-hour shifts)

Location: Hamilton, OH, On-site

As a Mill / Grinder Operator, you will:

  • Work closely with customer manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate machine programming.

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate grinders according to strict tolerances.

  • Examine and measure completed units, identifying defects and ensuring adherence to specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors

  • Exercise strong problem-solving ability for the inspection and repair of machinery

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience for Success:

  • 2+ years of experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools, and machines

  • Ability to proficiently set up and use measuring equipment including CMM, CAD-CAM, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Calipers, Profilometers, etc.

  • Expert in reading and interpreting blueprints and design sketches

  • Ability to create and maintain updated work processes related to machining

  • Familiar with warehouse, manufacturing, or production planning environments
