This Managing Director role is responsible for expanding Armanino's Valuation and Financial Modeling practice by driving business development, leading complex client engagements, developing talent, and partnering across advisory practices to deliver integrated solutions. The ideal candidate is a proven valuation leader with a strong commercial orientation, deep technical expertise, an established professional network, and a track record of building teams, developing people, and expanding client relationships in a consulting environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the growth of Armanino's Valuation and Financial Modeling practice, including revenue generation, market expansion, talent development, operational performance, quality control, and strategic planning.

  • Drive new business development efforts through networking, referrals, industry involvement, and cultivation of relationships with clients, attorneys, private equity sponsors, investment bankers, and other centers of influence.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on complex valuation and financial modeling matters, including financial reporting, tax planning, transaction support, litigation support, strategic planning, and decision-support analyses.

  • Lead and oversee complex valuation and financial modeling engagements, ensuring technical quality, timely delivery, effective client communication, and adherence to Armanino's A+ Execution standards.

  • Collaborate closely with the Forensics practice to deliver integrated client solutions across valuation, dispute consulting, forensic investigations, damages analyses, and litigation support engagements.

  • Build and deepen relationships with senior executives, business owners, legal counsel, private equity sponsors, investment bankers, and other centers of influence to generate opportunities and expand market presence.

  • Oversee engagement economics, including budgeting, realization, utilization, billing, collections, and overall practice profitability.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop valuation professionals while building a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture that supports hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, and practice scalability.

  • Build team culture and create an environment that supports growth, collaboration, and scalability.

  • Provide strategic oversight of financial analyses and valuation models utilizing income, market, and asset-based approaches.

  • Support the preparation and review of valuation analyses for financial reporting (ASC 805, ASC 350), tax planning, 409A/ASC 718, gift and estate tax, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, and other valuation-related matters.

  • Serve as a thought leader in the valuation marketplace through speaking engagements, publications, networking events, and professional organizations.

  • Foster a commercial mindset across the Valuation and Forensics teams by coaching professionals to identify client needs, surface cross-practice opportunities, and contribute to sustainable practice growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in valuation within a major regional, national, or Big 4 public accounting firm, or large boutique advisory firm.

  • One or more relevant valuation or finance credentials strongly preferred, such as ASA, CFA, CPA/ABV, CEIV, CVA, CVFI, or similar credentials demonstrating senior technical expertise.

  • Demonstrated success developing and expanding client relationships, building a strong internal network, and sourcing new business opportunities.

  • Extensive experience leading complex valuation and financial modeling engagements, managing client-facing consulting teams, reviewing technical work product, and developing professionals at multiple levels.

  • Experience collaborating with forensic accounting, litigation consulting, dispute advisory, tax, audit, transaction advisory, or other complementary practices to deliver integrated client service.

  • Recognized industry presence through speaking engagements, publications, professional associations, or thought leadership activities.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $207,900 - $283,200. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $228,600 - $311,500. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $239,000 - $325,600. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
