Job Description Step into a hands-on role where your technical skills keep critical equipment running smoothly and safely. This is a contract opportunity with a leading engineering-focused organisation, working on complex systems that support high-value operations in the Sugar Land area. About the Role: As a Engineering Technician, you will support the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, with a particular focus on wireline cable operations.

You will work closely with engineers and senior technicians to ensure equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and uphold strict safety and quality standards. Your work will directly impact operational performance and the timely delivery of technical services. Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical troubleshooting on equipment to identify faults, replace components, and restore proper function.

Conduct routine and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety procedures. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support repairs, modifications, and installations. Use diagnostic tools and instruments to test, measure, and verify equipment performance and system integrity.

Assist with wireline cable operations, including setup, inspection, maintenance, and basic repairs of cable assemblies and related equipment. Document maintenance activities, test results, and parts usage accurately in logs and maintenance records. Support equipment commissioning, functional checks, and performance verification under the direction of senior technical staff.

Adhere to all safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and company procedures while working in workshop and field environments. Key Requirements: Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting of industrial or field service equipment. Hands-on experience with electrical systems maintenance, including basic repairs and component replacement.

Ability to read and work from technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and related equipment. Familiarity with wireline cable operations and maintenance in an industrial or energy-related environment.

Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault-finding and root cause identification. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, standing, and working in varied conditions. Effective communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
