DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will support the highly automated Cold Rolling Mill by analyzing reasons for production disturbances in cooperation with other maintenance and production personnel, troubleshooting of process automation and communication systems issues, as well as researching, developing, and coordinating work orders through completion to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert. 

The Basics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with electrical maintenance in an industrial environment, preferably in a steel mill
  • Understanding of standard programming principles and practices to include logical instances and cycles, calling functions and modular programming for logic reuse
  • Competencies in multiple programming platforms with use of ladder logic, function block and textual/statement list logic
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

  • Cold Rolling Mill experience preferred
  • Knowledge of how to navigate SAP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Practices
  • Good understanding of process automation applications in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of different memory types and their uses in a control system
  • Knowledge in the following:
    • X-Ray measurement systems
    • Power feeding and distribution systems
    • Motors and drives and technological functions
    • Sensor actor systems, field bus systems (Profibus, CAN bus, decentralized I/O Systems [Wago, ET200])
    • Process data acquisition systems (IBA)
    • HMI Systems (Wonderware, Siemens WinCC)
    • Network technology (Ethernet)
    • PID Loop Controls

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance of industrial process automation systems, with focus on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), such as GE P80i, Siemens S7, Siemens TIA Portal as well as HMI system such as Wonderware and WinCC
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Motor Control utilizing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s)
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage distribution systems such as MV 34.5kV Switchgear, Dry Type MV Transformers, Low Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centers  
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance of industrial communication systems, such as LAN systems, Profibus, Profinet, CAN bus
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance of process instrumentation such as conductivity, pH, flow, temperature, pressure, etc. ensuring calibrations are completed by IE Techs to stay within environmental and quality compliance
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) on lengthy delays within a team environment and execute Corrective Actions (CAs) to mitigate future occurrences
  • Continuous improvement projects to increase quality and efficiency of the production process focusing on automatic control systems and associated field devices
  • Continuous optimization of process automation systems utilizing process data acquisition systems
  • Continuous improvement of the equipment reliability by developing and reviewing PM’s   
  • Conducting maintenance activities utilizing SAP software (Notifications, Work orders, Purchase Requisitions, Spare Parts, Service Entries, etc.)
  • Train, coach and mentor maintenance technicians and operations team members
  • Developing and Auditing Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) to ensure the safety of team members performing work on mill equipment
