Plant Manager – Milling Operations

Location: Minot, ND

Salary: $93,000 - $158,000 Base + Bonus + Relocation Assistance

We are partnering with a leading food manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a flour milling operation in Minot, ND supporting durum wheat and semolina-based food production across North America.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with DIRECT milling experience who enjoys leading from the floor, building strong teams, improving operations, and driving results in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.

The operation supports multiple production facilities and oversees grain receiving, grain processing and milling, flour blending, sanitation, rail logistics, and outbound operations. The site produces up to 500 million pounds annually of semolina, durum, and hard red spring wheat flour products.

What You’ll DoSafety, Quality & Compliance
  • Champion a proactive safety culture aligned with OSHA and company standards
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, GMP, and quality programs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational performance
Operations Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day plant and mill operations within a 24/7 food manufacturing environment
  • Oversee grain receiving, milling, blending, sanitation, rail logistics, and outbound operations
  • Utilize KPIs including OEE, yields, extraction rates, uptime, and runtime to drive plant performance
  • Balance operational performance across safety, quality, cost, service, and employee engagement
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Apply root cause analysis and standard work to improve reliability, productivity, and cost performance
  • Support long-term operational strategy and capital improvement initiatives
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop operations and production leadership teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, teamwork, and employee engagement
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives
What We’re Looking For
  • REQUIRED: Direct flour milling, grain processing, wheat milling, semolina, durum wheat, or related milling operations experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Proven leadership experience within milling, grain processing, or food manufacturing operations
  • Strong hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the production floor
  • Experience leading Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication, coaching, and team development skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Milling Science, or related field preferred
