Job description

Summary: The IT Developer is responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, and support of a variety of applications and reports primarily focused around the Microsoft Technology Stack.  As an integral member of the IT team, this position is a key role in supporting business and internal IT goals and objectives.  The position requires the use of design and technical skills while working closely with the Project Management Organization (PMO), end-users, senior management, related development teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to determine user requirements and solutions.

This is a hybrid position based out of our downtown Minneapolis, MN office, some minimum number of days in the office will be expected. This position is not remote.

 Duties and Responsibilities

·         Work closely with the PMO to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through design and delivery

·         Keep end-users, team members, and management informed on the status of open issues and assigned projects and tasks

·         Work independently and with other team members on projects and support activities based on end-user needs, setting day-to-day priorities based on overall goals and direction given by the PMO

·         Develop applications, reports, and other programming that conform to the company’s code standards

·         Produce technical design documents, software requirement specifications, and use case scenarios that are consistent with the architectural constraints and software development standards

·         Serve as an expert on applications architecture and provide technical support

·         Collaborate with internal teams to ensure overall quality of product from a software design and architectural standpoint

·         Work closely with end-users in the identification and documentation of business requirements and potential application solutions to help the user meet requirements; analyze such requirements and prepare specifications

·         Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues

·         Perform system testing and quality assurance for applications, enhancements, and upgrades to current systems

·         Keep current on industry trends and technology advancements by maintaining expertise in supported applications

·         Participate in meetings to develop workflows, processes, and tools

·         Make recommendations and assist end-users, team members, and management in developing and implementing process changes

·         Participate in projects from design and planning through implementation and support

·         Perform other related business duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or other management as required

 

Experience and Necessary skills:

·         Proven experience as a .NET Developer

·         Deep understanding in areas of application programming, database, and system design

·         Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller)

·         Knowledge of C# and HTML5/CSS3

·         Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)

·         Knowledge of relational database design and development

·         Experience creating tables, views, functions, and stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server

·         Proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies

·         Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to oversee various projects under deadlines

·         Must be self-directed with strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Minimum 2 years related experience

 

Experience with the following a plus:

·         Dynamics 365 Business Central, specifically developing reports, APIs, and pages

·         Visual Studio Professional, Visual Studio Code, TFVC, Git and Docker

·         SharePoint Online

·         Nintex

·         Power platform, specifically Power BI

·         SQL Server Reporting, Integration, and Analysis Services (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)

·         MS 365 CoPilot and Github CoPilot for Business

Education: AS/AA or technical certification in web development and programming coupled with 5+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience; or, BS/BA degree in computer science or related field with coursework in computer programming

 Full-time Salaried – exempt position

Hiring Range: $75,000 to $82,000 DOE

Office hours: Monday through Friday, daytime hours
