Satwave AI is an innovative Atlanta-based startup in the Satellite Communications industry. We design and build leading-edge flat panel array antennas and advanced antenna systems for commercial, defense, and government customers. Our multidisciplinary team of software, embedded, hardware, and RF engineers takes on hard technical problems and carries designs from concept through test, integration, and delivery. About the role
The Program Management Professional is responsible for planning and leading our development programs from initiation through close-out. This role coordinates a multidisciplinary engineering team, manages cost, schedule, and technical performance, and serves as the primary point of contact for our customers, including defense and government customers. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in technical program management and the experience to manage complex programs to their contract requirements.
 
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Business, or a related field; Master’s preferred
 
Responsibilities
·       Plan, organize, and lead development programs through the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and close-out
·       Develop project plans that define the major tasks and milestones based on scope, schedule, budget, resources, and personnel
·       Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance, and report status to management and customers
·       Develop and maintain integrated program schedules, identify the critical path, and track progress against milestones
·       Work with the engineering team to estimate the duration of tasks for the creation of a schedule
·       Plan and allocate resources and staffing across programs, and work with the engineering leads to secure the personnel needed to meet program commitments
·       Coordinate a multidisciplinary team across software, embedded, hardware, and RF engineering to meet program requirements
·       Work with agile development teams, and understand how a new requirement, enhancement, or defect affects program scope, schedule, and system architecture
·       Identify, track, and mitigate program risks, and maintain a risk register
·       Manage program scope, requirements, and changes, and control the program baseline
·       Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, and manage expectations, deliverables, and communications
·       Prepare for and lead program reviews such as the System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review
·       Manage compliance with the contract requirements defined in the Statement of Work or Performance Work Statement
·       Track and deliver Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items in accordance with their Data Item Descriptions and their required delivery dates
·       Track program budgets and support earned value management where required
·       Coordinate the procurement of long lead items with the supply chain and vendors
·       Assure that program deliverables meet the quality requirements before delivery
·       Maintain program documentation, action items, and meeting records
·       Manage program close-out, including final deliverables, documentation, and contract completion
·       Support proposal efforts, including reviewing the Statement of Work or Performance Work Statement and estimating the cost and schedule for new work
 
Skills and Experience
·       7 or more years of experience in program or project management, with time spent on engineering or hardware development programs
·       Experience managing government or defense programs, including DoD contracts and milestone reviews (required)
·       A Project Management certification such as the PMP (required)
·       Familiarity with program management best practices, including scheduling, risk management, and earned value management
·       Experience developing and maintaining integrated master schedules with tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
·       Experience planning resources and staffing across concurrent programs
·       Experience working with agile development teams and their sprint, release, and issue tracking processes
·       Familiarity with government contract types, the Statement of Work and the Performance Work Statement, and CDRL deliverables and their Data Item Descriptions
·       Ability to read and understand technical requirements and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary engineering team
·       Experience coordinating cost, schedule, and technical performance across multiple teams
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·       Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, program reviews, and field testing
·       Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR and EAR, due to work on export controlled technology
·       Ability to work independently and to lead others
