Job description

RF Engineer - Advanced RF Measurement Systems
Location: Kennesaw, GA (Lab-Based + Limited Travel)
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on RF Engineer to design, build, and support sophisticated RF measurement systems used for antenna characterization, radar cross-section (RCS) testing, and electromagnetic materials analysis.
This is an end-to-end engineering role-ideal for someone who enjoys taking systems from concept to reality, working directly with hardware, and supporting real-world measurement environments.
What You'll Be Working On
  • Design Complete RF Measurement Systems
Build VNA-centric systems for antenna testing, RCS measurement, and EM material characterization.
  • Architect RF Signal Chains
Design and integrate RF front-ends including switches, amplifiers, couplers, filters, and calibration paths.
  • Build & Validate Systems
Assemble hardware, integrate mechanical positioners and scanners, perform calibration, and verify system performance.
  • Solve Complex Measurement Problems
Debug RF, mechanical, and software issues to ensure stable, repeatable, high-quality measurements.
  • Install & Support Systems
Support on-site installations, train users, and provide post-deployment troubleshooting.
  • Create Clear Documentation
Produce wiring diagrams, test procedures, calibration workflows, and user guides to support long-term system reliability.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong RF/microwave fundamentals (S-parameters, matching, noise, dynamic range)
  • Proven experience working with Vector Network Analyzers
  • Hands-on comfort with RF lab tools and precision connectors
  • Methodical troubleshooting mindset and strong documentation habits
  • Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams independently
⭐ Bonus Experience (Not Required)
  • Antenna measurement systems (near-field, far-field, anechoic chambers)
  • RCS measurement concepts and calibration techniques
  • EM materials testing and parameter extraction
  • RF front-end design experience
  • Test automation or instrumentation control (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc.)
  • Familiarity with major RF instrumentation vendors
• What Success Looks Like
  • You can turn a vague measurement requirement into a robust, repeatable system
  • You're just as comfortable tightening a precision connector as you are tuning a calibration workflow
  • Customers trust you during installs and rely on your technical judgment
✈ Travel & Environment
  • Primarily lab-based
  • Occasional travel for installations and customer support (≈10%)
