Area Human Resources Manager - Frankfort, IN
Summary:
The Area HR Manager will provide on-site support to the Frankfort, Indiana Oilseed Facility as well as provide HR support to sites in Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee, serving both union and non-union facilities.
The HR Manager will drive critical human capital initiatives and associated business results. This role leads activities and ensures successful achievement of objectives related to colleague engagement, workforce management, performance management, talent development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, communications, and change management. The HR Manager impacts overall business performance and colleague engagement by providing strategic, creative, and collaborative leadership across assigned facilities and positions. Further, this role diagnoses issues and opportunities proactively and takes necessary action to bring timely resolution. To be successful in this role, the individual must be able to influence operations leaders and build strong, cross-functional relationships and they must have knowledge of the HR functions and associated HR policies, approaches, and environmental constraints, as well as relevant HR laws and regulations. This role is critical to ADM as it aligns HR strategy plans and helps leaders implement plans within specific sites.
What We're Looking For:
  • Required to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the assigned facilities.
  • Ability to travel to additional sites within region.
  • Must work in a manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.
  • Hands-on HR leader who is highly visible in plant operations, builds strong relationships with frontline employees, and works side-by-side with production leadership to support safety, performance, and positive employee relations.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR leadership focusing on Company's strategic direction, core values and achieving our HR Vision.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to management through the lifecycle of the employee including direct assistance in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management and termination processes while partnering with our centralized areas related to compensation, benefits, staffing and employee/labor relations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business processes in order to add measurable value and contributions to financial performance.
  • Establish relationships with all employees to foster a more open and communicative environment.
  • Offer support and direction to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • In partnership with the Talent Center of Excellence, build learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal growth opportunities for employees.
  • Capture and analyze data and recommend processes to reduce attrition, absenteeism and other key HR metrics.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended standard methodologies; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • As a member of facility leadership teams, actively participate in and contribute to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) and Performance Excellence culture & initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field)
  • 5 years of HR experience in the manufacturing sector with increasing levels of responsibility with at least 4 years of experience -
  • As HR generalist experience across multiple disciplines (e.g., workforce planning talent acquisition, career development) while interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs and processes
  • In leadership capacity with or without direct report responsibility
  • In a cross-functional team environment with exempt and non-exempt staff
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in a union environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years' experience working in multiple locations with remote teams
  • Experience developing, adapting, and/or facilitating training
  • Experience actively serving as a strategic business partner for other parts of the organization
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. Professional in Human Resources)
