Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Sylmar, CA

Facility: Olive View - UCLA Medical Center

Position Type: Healthcare / Travel Assignment

Shift: 4x10s Days

Assignment Duration: 8 Weeks

Expected Start Date: August 10, 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) for an 8-week travel assignment at Olive View - UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, California. Serving the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys, this 355-bed teaching hospital provides comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will oversee post-operative recovery, closely monitoring patients transitioning out of surgery across a wide variety of specialties including Orthopedics, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Podiatry, Thoracic, and General Surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care, managing airway recovery, pain management, hemodynamics, and emergence from anesthesia.
  • Monitor vital signs and deliver specialized care to post-operative patients across diverse surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure safe patient transitions.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques, infection control protocols, and hospital guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of perioperative/operating room RN experience with formal perioperative training.
  • Certifications Required:
    • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
    • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or CPI training
    • LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City specific)
  • Onboarding Clearances: Must complete LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to assignment start date.
Pay & Benefit Package
  • Estimated Weekly Pre-Tax Pay: $2,434.83 – $2,864.50 per week (based on a 40-hour workweek)
  • Hourly Base Rate: $25.00 / hour
