Lipscomb Academy is a Christ-centered, PreK-12 school with approximately 1,460 students and 300 faculty and staff members. The Technology Director provides strategic leadership and operational management of all technology systems and services for the Academy. This role ensures that technology infrastructure, systems, and support services align with our educational mission and values while enabling effective teaching, learning, and administrative operations. The director works closely with Lipscomb University's Computer Center. A planned overlap period will keep the current Technology Director available for training and consultation.
Responsibilities
Student Information System Management
  • Oversee all aspects of the Student Information System (SIS) database
  • Create and maintain user accounts for students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom reports to support administrative and academic needs
  • Provide comprehensive training to faculty and staff on SIS functionality
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Manage data archiving, backup procedures, and data exporting processes
  • Program and script reports using HTML and SQL

Email and Communication Systems
  • Create and maintain student email accounts
  • Oversee email system administration and security protocols

Technology Procurement and Budget Management
  • Oversee purchasing of software, hardware, and audio/video equipment
  • Manage the technology budget, ensuring balanced spending
  • Reconcile technology budget records with University financial systems
  • Maintain comprehensive inventory tracking systems
  • Implement strategic replacement planning for technology assets
  • Research and evaluate new technology solutions to support educational goals

Technical Support
  • Oversee comprehensive software and hardware support across diverse applications and devices
  • Supervise and mentor a team of two computer technicians
  • Ensure reliable operation of audio and visual systems for athletic venues and presentation spaces
  • Maintain technology support procedures and documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized support needs

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or related field
  • Technology leadership experience, preferably in a PreK-12 educational environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology staff and budgets

Technical Skills
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (FACTS SIS experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software systems
  • Knowledge of audiovisual systems
