Job description

Jewelry Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Jewelry Operations Manager with prior fine jewelry industry experience to oversee the operational flow of merchandise, repairs, custom work, special orders, inventory, and shipping. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while ensuring every piece is handled accurately, securely, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Repairs & Custom Work: Track customer repairs and custom projects from intake through completion, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with jewelers, vendors, and staff.
Quality Control: Inspect completed repairs and custom pieces for accuracy, workmanship, stone security, finish, cleanliness, and overall presentation before customer pickup.
Special Orders: Manage and follow up on special orders, including vendor communication, pricing, availability, production timelines, and delivery.
Inventory Management: Receive, verify, tag, organize, and enter new merchandise while maintaining accurate inventory records and assisting with inventory counts.
Shipping & Receiving: Prepare and securely package outgoing shipments, receive and document incoming merchandise, and maintain accurate tracking information.
Operational Follow-Through: Maintain accurate records and proactively follow up on outstanding jobs, orders, and shipments to ensure deadlines are met and nothing falls through the cracks.
Qualifications
  •  Previous professional experience in the fine jewelry industry required.
  •  GIA education, coursework, or certification strongly preferred; Graduate
     Gemologist (GIA GG) is a plus.
  •  Knowledge of jewelry terminology, gemstones, metals, repairs, and custom jewelry processes.
     Experience handling fine jewelry and customer-owned pieces.
     Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
     Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  •  Comfortable working with inventory and tracking systems.
  •  Reliable, trustworthy, and able to take ownership of responsibilities from start to finish.
