Job Description

Provide leadership and support for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs across the Business Unit. Ensure compliance with Amcor standards and applicable regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in safety, environmental compliance, critical risk management and operational excellence.

Serve as the primary EHS partner to Regional Operations and Human Resources leadership, translating Business Group EHS priorities into effective execution across the manufacturing network through field engagement, coaching and performance management.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Deploy and execute BG EHS strategies, standards and priorities across the Business Unit.

  • Partner with Operations, HR and site leadership to drive EHS performance, compliance excellence and risk reduction.

  • Lead BU programs related to Critical Risk Management, Compliance, Injury Prevention, Management of Change and Workers' Compensation.

  • Ensure effective incident management, including investigation, corrective actions, organizational learning and return-to-work processes.

  • Lead compliance activities, including audits, assessments, regulatory inspections and interactions with applicable authorities.

  • Monitor performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve business results.

  • Provide EHS oversight for environmental, fire prevention, property protection and capital investment initiatives, including project prioritization based on regulatory requirements, Amcor compliance obligations, SIF exposure reduction and Critical Risk improvement opportunities.

  • Develop EHS capability across the Business Unit through coaching, mentoring and sharing of best practices.

  • Maintain expertise in applicable regulatory requirements, industry best practices and Amcor standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education and Certifications

  • BS or MS in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related discipline.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated multi-site EHS leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with Critical Risk Management, Incident Investigation, Contractor Safety, Machine Safety, Fire Prevention and Workers' Compensation programs.

  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and agency interactions.

  • Experience working within EHS management systems.

  • CSP, CIH or equivalent professional certification preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $129,200 to $161,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $129,200 to $193,800 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations.
