Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

We are seeking a data-driven risk professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our Embedded Payments team. The ideal candidate will have experience transforming large volumes of internal and external data into actionable insights that drive risk monitoring, fraud detection, and compliance strategies.

This role will be instrumental in developing dashboards, monitoring transaction patterns, and identifying risk irregularities to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and policies. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build risk reporting tools, enhance oversight frameworks, and support strategic decision-making for risk management initiatives.

We are seeking a senior, highly technical data analytics professional to join our Embedded Payments organization. This role is focused on transforming complex payments and risk data into actionable business insights through advanced SQL logic and analysis, data modeling, and analytics platforms.

The ideal candidate is deeply fluent in financial and transaction data, comfortable working directly with stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical outputs, and capable of building scalable dashboards, metrics, and analytical frameworks that support strategic decision-making across payments, fraud, and portfolio performance.


Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Business Insights
• Analyze large, complex datasets related to payments, fraud, and transaction behavior to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
• Partner with business, product, and risk stakeholders to translate ambiguous business needs into structured analytical questions and outputs.
• Design metrics, KPIs, and analytical frameworks to evaluate portfolio performance, customer behavior, and operational health.
• Produce executive-level dashboards, visualizations, and analytical summaries that inform strategic decisions.

Analytics Platforms & Tooling
• Build and maintain dashboards and analytical models using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Design and implement analytical data structures (fact tables, derived metrics, summary layers) to improve reporting reliability and speed.
• Develop automated analytics and alerting logic to surface unusual patterns and emerging trends.
• Partner with data engineering teams to improve data quality, pipelines, and analytical scalability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as an analytics partner to Embedded Payments leadership, product teams, and related teams.
• Provide guidance on interpreting data and using analytics to inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and data science teams on advanced analytical use cases.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in data science, analytics, finance, engineering, or related field   OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, finance, engineering, or related field

3+ years in a data analytics role, or equivalent industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 


• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries and performance optimization.
• Experience working with large datasets in financial services, payments, fintech, or banking.
• Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Proven ability to translate business questions into analytical outputs.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.• Experience with payments, transaction data, fraud data, or financial risk analytics.
