Job description

Responsible for auditing surgical documentation for accuracy, working with daily reports in Epic, and reviewing the charges for each surgery performed. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the ability to perform in-depth review and investigation of operative reports. The Surgical Charge Capture Specialist is responsible for accurate auditing and processing of charges for all surgical cases and updating surgical documentation after thorough surgical chart review and communication with clinical and procurement teams.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in charge capture, medical billing, surgical services, or health information management in a hospital or surgical setting. Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
